Vijay Top Trek is an underrated trek, located in the remote place of Garhwal Himalayas. The trek is situated at an elevation of 3878 meters and lies in the famous Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttarkashi. What makes this trail so unique? During winters it is covered with a white sheet of snowmaking it pristine and during summers the sceneries are like the perfect postcard which resembles the wonderland that is not traversed by may adventurers. The route is raw and considered one of the best treks who wants to get away from city life
Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Khanyasni camp
Total distance 235 km – 9/10 Hours journey
Altitude – Khanyasni camp – 1878 Meter
Dehradun is the hub for trekkers. It is the gateway to all the important treks. Start your journey from Dehradun to Sankri on a shared taxi.
Transports are easily available to be it taxis, buses, etc. The drive is scenic as you get to watch the beautiful mountain ranges of Garhwal cutting through alpine forests of various villages. The long drive from Dehradun to Taluka is very tiring but the beauty on the way will blow your mind. Countless mountains, green scenery will make you revitalized. If you plan to explore Dehradun, you can also head towards Massourie’ known as the queen of hills’. Another quaint town with beautiful landscapes. You will also cross the markets of Damta, Naingbagh, and Naugaon. In the evening the trekkers will reach Sankri via Jarmola. Enjoy the scenic views and cut through the quaint villages amidst the pine forest of Jarmola. After one hour, we will come across the check post-Naitwar and reach the Khanyasi campsite. Relax, stroll around the campsite. Snacks and tea will be given.
Day 2: Trek from Khanyasni camp to Sarutal camp
Total distance 08 km – 4/5 Hours journey
Altitude Sarutal camp – 2000 Meter
Start your trek post breakfast, walking along the river of Rupin(1500m) to Pujali and Bitri village. On the way, there will be a lot of orchards, wildflowers, and vast grasslands of Bitri which lies at an altitude of 2000m. Wheat and cultivation of red rice are being done here. Interact with the local villagers and get to know about the local lifestyle. As you move ahead, the Himachali mountains can be seen like Chansheel valley from the top of Bitri village. The camps will be set up further at a wide meadow of Sarutal. Food will be served and then retire for the night.
Day 3: Trek from Sarutal camp to Badang camp
Trek Distance 08 km – 5/6 Hours journey
Altitude – Badang camp – 2600 Meter
Start your day early after breakfast and head towards Badang camp. We will cross a ridge that will divide the valley of Rupin and Supin and will give stunning views of the mountains. If you see towards the north, again the peaks of Himachal can be seen with 4 peaks of Swargarohini illuminating from the other side. The Rupin and Supin valley has a lot of dense forests and there is a gradual height increase. Meander through alpine forests and oak trees which will level up your adrenaline rush and, in some time, you will be welcomed by the wide meadows of Badang. It is a great camping spot. Camps will be set up here followed by snacks and dinner. Retire for the night.
Day 4: Trek from Badang camp to via Vijay Top (3800 Meter) back to Badang camp
Trek Distance 12 km – 5/6 Hours journey
Altitude – Vijay top – 3800 Meter
Today will be the challenging day as we will head towards Vijay Top and there are continuous ascends all along the journey. In winters, the trek is covered with a white sheet of snow, and getting to the top gets difficult. But at the same time, it gets very adventurous and the summiting gives more satisfaction. As you go higher and higher, the views get better. Animals can be spotted as this place is home to many species. The entire is considered between moderate to challenging. In some parts it is easy but some parts are challenging because of the steep ascents. Once reaching the top, you will get to see the 360 views of Kedarkanta, Bandarpoonch, BlackPeak, Swargarohini 1,2, and 3 Baradsar range, Phulara Ridge, Rupin and Supin valley and Sarutal.

Day 5: Trek from Badang camp to Bhitri village (8 km) (4/5 Hours) same day drive to Sankri (33 km) over the night stay hotel

Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise in a pristine environment, have a cup of coffee, and let your soul enjoy this moment. Watch the peaks of Swargarohini shimmering from the other side. Breakfast will be served and post breakfast, we will start our journey. The trail never fails to surprise you with exquisite views after leaving Sarutal. There will be continuous descents until you reach the Tal and cross the dense forests and vast highlands. You will reach Bhitri village in no time and relish the beauty. Same day drive to Sankri market. Food will be served followed dinner. Retire for the night and have a good sleep in the hotel.
Day 6: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun by taxi
Total distance – 210 km – 8/9 Hours journey
After breakfast, drive to Dehradun and schedule your travel plans thereafter. At the end of the trek, certificates will be given. We shall big goodbye to beautiful memories.

This trek starts from the Himari which is located on the banks of the Tons river and lies in the Yamuna Valley. The Vijay top trek isn’t any cliqued trek in the Indian Himalayas like Kedarkantha, Triund, or Beas Kund. Hence the routes are completely isolated from the busy life of cities.
